BLUE SPRUCE
This tree is
familiar to most people as a landscape plant but is also sold as a cut tree and billed
as the aristocrat of Christmas trees. Although it is native to only a small
area of the Rocky Mountains (Colorado Blue Spruce), it has adapted to a wide range
of soils and to most of the northern part of the United States and
lower Canada. The needles are hard and sharp but the wonderful blue-green color
is very pleasing.
